  1. Yes we received it with a 42 insert. Nicholas liked the look so he kept it. Gents and ladies. Nicholas is getting focused on going to college. we move him in end of next week and he's not going to have his car the first semester (perhaps first year we will see how he hits the ground). I suspect he'll take an extended brake from the forum. I think he has one last post planned to close this specific thread out before he heads off. Thank you so much for all the advice and encouragement you provided him over the past three years.
  2. Nicholas drove us (wife and I) to lunch today. The radio sounds pretty good. He's getting the hang of the three on the tree. The second video he's moving a little faster so it highlights the engine sound
  3. Proud Dad Moment. This is a link to the local car show that came out to visit nicholas https://speedandshine.com/47-plymouth/
  4. Nicholas had hoped to have the P15 ready to drive to graduation today. But just a bit shy of street legal still. Should be ready to drive to a few of his classmates graduation parties. Anyway he looks sharp in his graduation tux (the tradition at his school for graduation) and its a timeless look next to the P15.
  5. Nicholas had visitors today. Mr. Sadler and his crew came out interview Nicholas for their show, Speed and Shine. Nicholas presented himself and his car pretty well. He gave a shoutout to the forum. Once we get a link to the segment they put together we'll share.
  6. Yes. We've cut, torqued, squeezed, and stretched that body quite a bit over the past few years. The shop maint. manual shows the tech prying parts into alignment so I guess this is par for the course. On a happier note. My truck batteries ran down over night and guess whos car came to the rescue....
  7. Hood Alignment. Nicholas and I are having trouble aligning the hood to the cowl. We can get it low enough but were having trouble getting the passenger side back far enough to close close the gap between the hood and cowl to an acceptable distance. Any tips or techniques anyone could share?
  8. Okay time for some really heavy proud parent time Nicholas is going to be a Nittany Lion. He was accepted to (and is going to) the Engineering College at Penn State, main campus, University Park I suspect you'll see him at the Hershey auto show a few times over the next few years.
  9. Son, don't ever explain your jokes. Just process the miss and move on till the next opportunity
  10. Bobby, Nicholas will end up with an extra rear bumper assembly. Everything except the tray that bridges the bumper to the body. Stay tuned for pics and info. I'll have him post it to classified over the holiday break unless there is charge for the listing. Not interested in paying to give something away. Chrome may not be a limited resource these days but it is more regulated, and expensive. Paint is probably slightly better for the environment, but please don't quote me on that as I'm not an expert.
  11. Yes. We could walk on water, but we couldn't count. But we always came together with our brothers and sisters when it counted. I suspect when push comes to shove, the same is true today for all US Citizens. I've got your back when the shift hits the fan, because I know in that moment, you've got mine, even more so if you know the firing order of for the flathead four.
  12. Was able to locate these clips from the technical archives. Very clean technique on U-turns, But left and right still fuzzy...
  13. Happy Veterans Day and thank you for your service. Also one day belated Happy Birthday to my fellow Marines. The Commandant and Sargent Major posted a motivating message on the Marines.mil site. It worth the 8 minutes to watch it. https://cdn.dvidshub.net/media/video/2011/DOD_108050503/DOD_108050503-1280x720-2765k.mp4 Semper Fi
  14. Okay, one photo is the finish line at Michigan International Speedway. I swear Nicholas is in the second shoot somewhere. We were not allowed on the course this year due to COVID. I kind of understand as there were over 160 runners, Multiply that by at least two parents, and add in siblings and friends and other team mates that did not run in the top seven and that would have been a packed tight finish area. Nicholas and his team didn't have their best race at states, but we were all pleased with the season they put in -- particularly as they didn't even know if they'd have a season earlier on.
  15. Fun Fact. The state cross country Meet is held at the Michigan International Speedway. The course starts in the infield and goes just outside the premise, returning to finish down the homestretch just like the racecars. Parents of participants typically get a VIP box, but this year may be different. They broke the race into two section: All the first and second place teams from each region compete in the main race. The third place teams and any qualifying individual runners run in the second race. Because Nicholas and his team took second at regional, they get to race in the main event. I'll try to get a picture of him finishing down the home stretch.
  16. Nicholas's team made it to the State meet today. Their times going into the regional meet had them in fourth (maybe third), but their times in the race today put them in second. Stay tuned, state meet is this Friday.
  17. I was right there with you. Pull ups and sit ups all day long, but fighting hard to make up those last few elusive seconds in the run. Shot 245 (dropped the five points at the 500 of all places) on the range, so figured I could shoot first and run later.
  18. It's 5K (3.1 miles). Frank, in the Marine Corps we had to run 3 miles in 18 minutes for a perfect score on the Physical Fitness Test -- a few of us scored perfect, and it was even fewer after boot camp. These kids are flirting with a 16 minute 3 mile and some of them are even faster than that.
  19. His team qualified for Regionals yesterday afternoon. Ugly race though (for all teams). High winds, steamy air
  20. I have some free time today, so I'll make the choice easier on him by removing the fenders while he's at school. FYI, his cross country team won their Catholic League meet this past weekend. Nicholas (and five others on his team) received All Catholic League designation (finishing in top 20). 17:20 was not his fastest time ever, but by far his fasted time on the specific course (one of the more difficult courses in the area). His team runs a meet this weekend to hopefully qualify for the regional meet and their chances are good (not given).
  21. Okay bragging again. Today Nicholas ran the 5K in 17:08 (lingered at the finish to congratulate his competition so he officially recorded a 17:14. Its all automated these days) Get this, he was disappointed with the time, thinking he should have broken 17. About 4 more weeks left in the season, perhaps he may, although todays course was about as fast (flat) as they come.
  22. He left the house this morning with his cell phone in the inside chest pocket playing WN's "On the road again" Yes he was feeling the vibe.
  23. I worked for Ford for a good bit (Pension, Treasury, Credit, Audit etc.). Met both Bill Ford Jr. and Edsel Ford II a few times, but not in a capacity that they would remember me much if at all. My sense was that the present generation puts effort into doing better by society in general. What Ford is attempting in Cork Town (Detroit) will be nothing short of transformational (for Detroit for sure and potentially for Ford as well) if they can pull it off. Interesting times for the auto industry.
  24. As hot as that was, It's my mild (hottest pepper was scotch bonnet). This next batch with Maruga Scorpion will be the medium with a similar flavor intensity, a chocolate tone, and 2X the heat. I have a blend that uses a half measure of Carolina Reaper with a Trinidad Scorpion that goes as hot as I believe is doable without killing the flavor intensity.
