  1. This is how I converted my front parking lamps into dual filament park/turn lamps. Granted your's will be slightly different being a B3 vrs. my B2, but the principal remains the same. I found these sockets at a local parts store. (I believe it was a Checker, which is now O'Reilly) I then figured out how to remove the sockets from my lamp housings. All it took was to heat them up and tap them out. They were just soldered in. Then I just soldered the new one in place and painted it all up nice. My next problem was that my lenses are clear glass and I couldn't find amber bulbs in 6 volt. So I got some amber LED replacement bulbs from superbrightleds.com. And since I made all of my harnesses, I just added the wires for the front turn signals as I assembled everything. Maybe RI wire can add your front signal wires too. The only problems comes in the fact that the parking lamp wire connects to the junction strips along side the radiator. There are only 3 terminals on those strips. 2 for the headlamps and 1 for the parking lamp. When I wired up mine I used the 3 terminals for the headlamps (Hi beam, lo beam, and ground) and added a couple of small connectors for the parking/turn signal lamps. Merle

  2. the 55-60 top speed most will run at for max is enough alone me to say, out with the old and in with the new..however, my 54 stock will hit approx 53 in low gear jut by putting the pedal to the metal..at 75 she is humming comfortably but with lots of room to spare..85 begins to sound busy..interstate is 70-75 with no problem..again..I do not use this car as a daily but I don't baby it like a fragile unboiled egg or as if the seat was nitroglycerine..ready to blow with the slightest bump..myother builds..yeah newer stuff because I do not intend to sit back and let the world pass me by in the far right lane..as for another note...let meadd formy allstock 49 Plymouth..yeah i would not ever have driven it like the54..apples and opranges..like you I thinkit sounded abit busy at 60..wdhy it isnolonger here..to good to cut...to old for my style driving..so for those with that setup..I will give you the 55-60 and say itis not wrong to do so..actually..I will agree it may be the best thing to do

  3. When it comes to any upgrades its whatever floats your boat. Myself I went to electronic Mopar ignition for the dependability and the much hotter spark. It is a set it and forget it. There is a reason the car manufactuers went this way. No moving parts to wear out. Dont have the ever wearing rub block to keep adjusting. Spare parts in my car consist of a fan belt. Thats it. My car is set up similar to Don's. Only difference is the ignition the rear ratio (3:91), and a 218 engine. Very dependable and relaxing to drive......I am always getting the "you drove that car where"? comment.

  4. Take a really good look at your bat cable that goes to the starter. Yolu may have rubbed a hole in the insulation and and the pedal grounds it out when you press it.
