We have had some real bad weather here these past few days. A tornado came thur here yesterday and knocked out power. I went to see the car today and the guy fially painted it. :) I am so happy i could do cart wheels. I am going to wait until I put the moulding and stuff on it to post a pic. We drilled some holes that where plugged from body fill for the emblems and such so the next few days are going to be exciting. The wheels were ordered last week and should be here monday or tuesday. and then yopu will see the full effect. I needed alot of help with this car as my health is not what it was so I think this will be the last car I build from a rusty hull. My second dream car still eludes me so I better not make any promises to myself I can't keep. Anyway pick's to follow......what's my second dream car? 1957 ford fairlane 500 convertible:p oh boy now that's a mean machine! skirts whitewalls.:D

Hi Rodney, glad to hear the good news of the paint job completed, can hadly wait till mine is painted, but my pockets are real lean these days, ain't gonna happen for a year or 2.

Also happy you are okay after the tornado, we have had 3 here this year, we usually only get 7 to 10 per year, but this year they are earlier........Fred

Rodney Don't it feel goood when things turn out well. The older I get the more selective I am in my choice of projects. I have less time and energy that I want to expend. I think my current rides are my last projects unless we can't get gasoline and I have to make an electric ride. Is that 57 Fairlane the one that had the retractable hard top convertible? Hope your health holds out til you finish your projects.

My health is shot, you know when the doctor tells you that there is nothing else he can do. Tha's my situation however I can live with it. My cars and my collection of old stuff keep me going, I enjoy having something to do. I don't plan on climbing any mountains or running the 2 min. mile so i'm ok. I remember I used to work on my cars until dark, those were the days. I now work on them for about 3 hours then I have to stop. I try to remain very up beat and know my limitations. The 1957 ford that I deam of is a soft top. The retractable is a nightmare unless you are engineer. I had an experence with one in my youth. My dad broght one home and then proceeded to take my mom to the store. He decided to let the top down and right at the half way point it stopped. My mom was not happy she told him it had to go. He got a fine looking convertible the next day (black and white) she loved it , I loved it. That was his third one. So I have been chasing that dream for more than thirty five ;) years

Last night I stayed late to see how the clear went on. After I left the body man saw a flaw in the door, the epoxy primer that we used was a bright yellow different from what he normaly uses and it did not cover well so we are going to put more base on the door monday and then clear it that night. thought you might want to see it as I'm dying to show it:)

I know a guy here in town who has been building his 57 Ford (black) convertible over the past several years. Still not done yet. Even has

skirts. He said his first car was one of those......so...... He does have a

set of 57 Plymouth wheel covers on it - the pointed, spun aluminum ones.

I went over this morning to help finalize my car to get it out of there by monday, well I spraned my back and hurt my hip and had to leave, I guess I will have to pick it up next week sometime. My wheels came in and they look great. I would work on it this weekend however My forum friends are coming in town and we must talk, think and drive Plymouths:( Oh well there is always tomorrow right:cool: IMG_1912.jpg

Rodney,

That's one beautiful car. Of course you know I have a preference for red :-)

I couldn't sleep at all last night. Hey, that sounds like a great line in a song. Oh, that's right, it's already been used!:P
