Oldguy48 Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 That may not be an original color, but it looks perfect on that car. Great choice of colors. Quote
eric wissing Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 That is great!! If those are the plates you get to run, cool!!. Eric Quote
JerseyHarold Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 That was an excellent choice of colors. The car looks terrific. Enjoy! Quote
Dennis Hemingway Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 Nice, Very Nice. I like the colors, they look great on that car. Dennis:D Quote
daddyo23 Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 Almost looks better on the Cranbrook than it does on a chebby. Quote
Heavy Flat Head Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 That is a real sharp color, of course as I have been told more than once I am not good at colors. Thank heavens I do not listen and still think the trees turn orange in fall. The bottom line is mine is red and I do like it, but that color just pops for me. To me and a lot of others (I think) it is more important the car looks like it is suspose to have the color on her than it being a true Chrysler color. In fact I would be close if I said that sometime Chrysler had that color in her line up at one time. The car looks great to me and that is what counts. Keep up the good work as these pictures helps me keep on track with my project. Ed. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 Looks great!!!! A good period color. In the same neighborhood as the turquoise blue color used on 56 Plymouths. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 Kinda like this P15......nowhere close to an original color, but I think it looks good on this car. Quote
RobertKB Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 Love the colour and it suits the car. Congratulations!! One thing I noticed is that your '53 has a '54 hood ornament. I'm not trying to sell one as I don't have a spare but just thought I would point it out. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 I did not know you had your front right door fixed..did you go ahead and get that parts car....inquiring minds want to know,...lol Car is looking great... Quote
p24-1953 Posted May 14, 2008 Author Report Posted May 14, 2008 i drove to alabama only to find that the parts car i was going to get was a total waste do to rust, but i didnt come back empty. i bought the bumpers and the hood ornimate to replace my damaged 53 one. i purchsed NOS hinges off of ebay and managed to get the door to swing properly and then it was a easy matter of having a body shop pound out the dent. Im taking it to shadberuns for interior next week if they are still left after the storms Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 Great looking car, original colors are over rated, with new technology it's almost a given to get the best out there for your car. You can never go wrong with that color and white trim. The white wall radial is a good touch as well. Quote
Normspeed Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 Your 53 is looking great. I'll bet you get a lot of smiles and thumbs-up when you take it for a drive. I sure wish my bumpers were as nice as yours. Quote
53dodgekustom Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 That looks really nice. The color is perfect. Is the front bumper a stock 53 unit or something else? Quote
p24-1953 Posted May 15, 2008 Author Report Posted May 15, 2008 thanks for the compliments , yep thoses are stock bumpers , i removed the front guards because they were in bad shape. Quote
Grandadeo Posted May 16, 2008 Report Posted May 16, 2008 Looks pretty dern good from down here. You don't happen to have another one of those tinted windshields kickin around do ya? By the way, I can see I'll be taking my bumper guards off this weekend. Looks real good. Lee Quote
p24-1953 Posted May 16, 2008 Author Report Posted May 16, 2008 i didnt know my winshield was tinted.... how do you know that? but no i dont have another one Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 16, 2008 Report Posted May 16, 2008 The windows do appear--in those pics--to be tinted. Maybe it's just the lighting. However, my 54 Plymouth has factory tinted windows all around. Quote
