Most shows I go to I welcome people to touch and sit in my car.

My grandson got a big thrill when he was invited to sit in the

drivers seat of this Hudson race car at a show I went to last

summer. When I see a "dont touch" sign on a car I usually dont

look at anything but the sign and keep walking.

And as long as we are talking about signs....

I was walking down the street here in the Big Easy and a mid 80's GM something drove by with a sign hanging from the rear view mirror inside the car.

The sign said FUZZY DICE:D

This was the best fuzzy dice I have ever seen.

Don,

I don't mind people touching the car either, if I'm around. I also don't believe kids should be allowed to touch the cars at a cruise in or show. However, if with an adult and the owner gives permission I think it's great for kids like your grandson to be invited to sit in the car.

If you go to the forum on http://www.oldcarsweekly.com you can vent your love for fuzzy dice.:D I saw a poll on there someplace for them. The picture below is just for you because I know how much you enjoy looking at fuzzy dice.:D

Unfortunately, Don, there are too many people out there with no respect for some one else's property. I've seen too many guys with lit cigarettes allowing hot ash to fall on some one's new upholstery, and too many people who believe a car makes a great table for their soda, food, clipboard, etc. I sympathise w/ the guys who put a "Don't Touch" sign on their cars.

I'm glad that your grandson was able to have that experience, and I think most people are willing to allow some one that opportunity. However, owners shouldn't be expected to hover over their cars all day. The sign, while appearing a bit curt, is necessary to remind people that a car is some one's private property and should be respected as such.

Most people would be upset by a perfect stranger coming into their house to watch TV or use the bathroom without at least asking permission. At my house, it's a good way to get a piece of hot lead inserted.

Come on Norm, if you're gonna tease Don with fuzzy dice, do it right.

That picture makes me hurt just to look at it.

Merle' date=' like I said I know Don really hates to look at fuzzy dice. He's never shy about it. Now he's once again admitting how much he hates fuzzy dice.:D[/quote']

Norm;

I am impressed. You actually have now become a master of quote alterations.:D I have tried to teach you that trick for a couple of years now.:rolleyes:
