Normspeed Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 OK, don't feel bad if you don't get this one, I never heard of one but it's kinda neat. Quote
Young Ed Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 The engine looks like a flathead ford v8 60. No idea on the body itself Quote
greg g Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 Well it not yellow but it looks like an early version of the line of special builts road racers from the early 50 that were know as old yeller. Quote
1940Mopar Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 Looks like a modified or early sprint car....probably completely custom body with a Model A hood and sides and custom grill. I might be wrong though. It doesn't strike me as anything OEM from this side of the pond at least. Quote
Suddensix Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 I think that it might be the original Rat Rod. Don't think it's a sprint car cuz I've never seen one with room for two, although I have led a sheltered life. My guess would be an early hot rod with a home built body. Notice in the photo on the floor the elaborate roll cage, maybe a Bonneville car. Quote
Normspeed Posted March 8, 2008 Author Report Posted March 8, 2008 Well, might be the only one made. Here's the I.D. placard. Never heard of one before. Kinda cool, looks like in its current life it's street legal. Quote
thedahmer Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 I have heard these refered to a FLYING A---as well Quote
Manuel in Oz Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 Looks like its all Ford. Has buggy springs front and back and sits on Ford wheels. Also 1949-53 Ford engine. Manuel in Oz Quote
