55 Fargo Posted February 17, 2008 Author Report Posted February 17, 2008 Thanx all, the funeral was today, because the highways were completely ice-covered due to a down pour of freezing rain here this morning, Myself and my wife and kids could not go the 30 miles or so to the funeral. I attempted to go onto the highway 2 times, once with our 2005 Dodge Caravan, from our gravel road onto the highway, the van just slid right across the road, it would have been very dangerous to proceed with my wife and small children. I then waited a bit and tried with our 1994 Ford Ranger with snow tired and studs all the way aound, same result, I turned around and came home. I feel very badly about not getting to this funeral, my Mother and older Sister , were upset we could not make it to the service. This afternoon the highways were sanded and salted, they were driveable by 4:00 PM, but many hours after the funeral....................Fred Quote
