greg g Posted December 24, 2007 Report Posted December 24, 2007 Check Pete A's site (Blueskies) and get a gander of his Ovaltin adapter can. It is on his site under the engine section. Quote
james curl Posted December 24, 2007 Report Posted December 24, 2007 On a lot of newer cars with two barrel progressive carburetors the idle opening is adjusted using a number sized drill bit to set the throttle plates at idle. This is done on the bench before installation. The drill bit is placed into the throat of the carburetor and the throttle plate adjustment screw is adjusted to just allow the drill bit to pass between the bore and the plate at idle. Something along this line should work for the initial setting. Quote

Young Ed Posted December 25, 2007 Report Posted December 25, 2007 Interesting thats how you set the carb on my 10th scale RC cars. They give you a thin wire and you close it to that size. Quote
james curl Posted December 25, 2007 Report Posted December 25, 2007 All Toyota 20R carburetored engines set their progressive two barrel carburetors that way. I owned a 75 Celica and drove it 330,000 miles before sending it to a new owner who cares for it as much as I did. He now has a much modified 20R engine in it which I helped him install, one of the three spare engines I had that needed rebuilding. Quote
