BobT-47P15 Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 I guess those doors just clap shut. Or are they like clapping hands? Quote
Dennis Hemingway Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 He must have the clapper installed on the doors instead of his lights. Dennis Quote
Captain Neon Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 Everybody's gotta have a dream, I suppose. I am always amased at clueless morons that find themselves with an older car and think they have won the lottery. I would be surprised if it even runs. How long since that car's been on the road? It still has the old Statue of Liberty plates that NY discontinued in 2000. The driver's quarter panel looks so rusted out that it's gotta be paper thin. Any one that makes a big deal out of suicide doors in a 40s sedan, like they were a rare option, should have to wear one of Bill Engvall's famous signs. I even remember one clueless moron that insisted that my 1946 Plymouth was really a '34 because it had suicide doors just like his buddy's car. Even claimed that it looked identical, and I had to be wrong. It's my car and I hold the title, but, according to this fool, I didn't know what I was talking about. OK, I'm done ranting. Any one care to share some "Here's your sign!" moments with self-appointed experts. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 Captian Neon..how right you are...I saw the same car I was offered for 300.00 after dragging it out of the woods sitting by the road today with a best offer over 4000.00 sales tag...there are holes in the every panel on the car..I don't think you could trap and hold a beagle in the trunk or passenger compartment...not to mention the shot rockers in and out..front grille support rusted to hang..rear quarters etc etc...and the potmetal..lets not go there...lets just say before it was cleaned he may have gotten the 300.00 but I would not offer that today... Don Coatney Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 I got the answer:cool: I wrote the seller asking about the clap. I found that the very first car with suicide doors was a 60's Lincoln. Mrs Plymouth must have had a time machine to see the future Lincoln and place these doors on a Plymouth before anyone had knowledge that Lincoln would invent them in the 60's. I must really be really hard of hearing as Ralphie had to shout when he answered my question. THE BACK DOORS OPEN THE OPPOSITE WAY OF NORMAL 4 DOOR CARS. JUST LIKE A 60'S LINCOLN CONTINENTAL.
