Starting to get back on an old project car. I have a 37 plymouyh sedan and am looking for ideas to change out front suspension. I want to try and keep original frame. Will like to do some airbags in front. Has anyone build there own crossmember, controll arms, etc? Or is there any good dyi kits out there? Any help or feed back would be great. Thanks

Fairly certain you have the front leaf springs and Axle like I do on my 38. I wish there was an alternative to swap it to coilovers. I never have loved having leaf springs in the front I would like to get my car lower to touch more but just can't do it.

I have a 37' as well with the solid axle front. Been asking on the forums and my group of lowrider friends for some time now.. They all tell me the same thing. IFS. There's kits out there, even a Youtube vid somewhere of the swap with an old straight axle MOPar. I also read you can achieve some degree of lowering by custom made leaf springs but I never had any luck in finding a shop when I looked into it..    Me, I've kept the faith with the straight axle. Tried some smaller wheels up front and while it did lower it a little, it made the gap between the top of the tire and the fender more pronounced.  Try looking on THE HAMB.

I think I found a solution! Welderseries.com Paul Horton's have an article about the plymouth's frame and offer an crossmember kit where you can modify original frame here is a couple of pictures

Mad201.....thats an interesting IFS conversion, looks basically like a Mustang11 style .........I was going to suggest that a XJ6 Jaguar front end might work....they are quite common conversions here in Australia, ideally the Mk 2 or 3 XJ6 are the preferred ones, they come with manual or a power rack & pinion, vented discs with Chev bolt pattern and are a neat bolt in style of suspension althought the upper shock mount has to be fabricated but is not that difficult........regards from Oztralia.....andyd
