HRL4101 Horn relay (be nice, my first post)

1950 Special Deluxe, 4 door

 

I know it's probably been beaten to death, but I need some clarification on the horn relay wiring. My manual seems to indicate the negative from the starter solenoid goes in the middle and the connection to the horns is top right.  I don't know the terminal IDs on the Relay. Is the manual right?

As I recall looking at my HR here the:

 

Top right - solenoid

Top Left ( angled )- to horns

Bottom Right - to Horn Button up steering column

Botto Left- Ignition

The manual looks correct, here is a quick test: 

Two bottom contacts are for the button, two top contacts are the actual switch doing the work

a VOM will tell you all you need to know of the relay......do you have one, they are indispensable for electrical work.

@Ivan_B Saw that video this morning after I posted. Now I'm at the white collar job that funds the blue collar job. I'll test it when I get home.

@Plymouthy Adams I have 2! When my septic was being installed, I had to train the installers how to use one to troubleshoot an unconnected wire.

 

@Bob Riding Nothing extra fancy.  It has been in my wife's family since new. Stored in a barn for 50+ years and she wanted it, so we have it.
