hi_volt Posted January 15 Report Posted January 15 I've looked through a number of the threads here but so far haven't found a definitive answer. I'm trying to determine the thread pitch of the female receptacles on the carburetor and the vacuum advance canister on the distributor so that I can add fittings to accommodate a flexible vacuum hose. The distributor is an Autolite IAT-4101 and the carburetor is a Carter ball and ball DTC1. Any help would be appreciated. 🙂 Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted January 15 Report Posted January 15 I am thinking these older tubing gland nuts was 1/16 pipe thread.....you should be able to snag these locally from a hardware store, check in their tubing fittings usually in a plastic display case. Quote
Harley PHD Posted January 15 Report Posted January 15 My 1950 coronet uses the same fittings as the brake lines. Its solid metal line from distributor to carburetor. 1 Quote
Los_Control Posted January 15 Report Posted January 15 Think it depends on which fitting we are talking about. The vacuum advance technically has 3 fittings and 3 different threads. The middle adapter I believe is NPT threads like @Plymouthy Adams suggest, then standard lines will thread to that .... the carburetor has the same adapter and believe a good hardware store would have them. 1 Quote
hi_volt Posted January 19 Author Report Posted January 19 (edited) Thanks everyone. It turns out that the male fittings I needed are 3/16" tube nuts for inverted flare tubing, with a thread pitch of 3/8-24. I bought some pre-made copper nickel brake lines with these fittings and they work perfectly. Edited January 19 by hi_volt Quote
