Jim Shepard Posted Wednesday at 04:35 AM Report Posted Wednesday at 04:35 AM Can someone post an illustration of the linkage from the gas pedal to carburetor for a flathead equipped car? Quote

And based on the intake manifold photos I have seen, apparently at least some later trucks are likely the same as my '33. 1 Quote
Jim Shepard Posted Wednesday at 06:20 AM Author Report Posted Wednesday at 06:20 AM What I’m after is an illustration of the one that comes up from the driver side and crosses over the head. As I remember there is some kind of swivel thing on the head and between the gas pedal and carburetor. I think these were on the MOPAR cars of the late 40’s early 50’s that had the flathead six. clarkede Posted Wednesday at 07:26 AM Report Posted Wednesday at 07:26 AM (edited) Is this what you're thinking of regarding the gas pedal to carburetor linkage? I can get some better pictures in the morning if it is. Happy New Year!! Edited Wednesday at 07:27 AM by clarkede Quote

I have mine all apart while doing restoration work. I'll try to put the linkages back together and get some better pictures, but for now here is one from my archives showing the cable come through the firewall and attaching to part of the throttle linkage assembly that will basically move the throttle "minimum" up and down to a desired RPM (using the throttle knob on the dashboard). This would allow you to, for example, increase the RPM while the engine is warming up or it could also be used as a "manual" cruise control on the highway - not that we've ever done that before. Jim Shepard Posted Saturday at 03:45 PM Author Report Posted Saturday at 03:45 PM (edited) Did Chrysler have an illustration of this setup in any of the parts manuals? Edited Saturday at 03:46 PM by Jim Shepard Quote
