Norm's Coupe Posted December 7, 2007 Report Posted December 7, 2007 As long as we dress for the cold, it's not all that bad. As for people moving south to places like Florida, AZ, etc, I know three families that have done that over the years. However the first one, my daughter's first husbands parents moved back to Wisconsin after only one year in Florida. The second one was the people who owned the house across the street. He retired and immediately moved to Florida (around Tampa). Said he could go fishing every day down there. Well, 2 years later they moved back to Wisconsin. The third couple (also retired) moved to North Georgia close to NC. Built a new house right on the edge of some Golf Course. Forgot the city, they are actually friends of my brother in law and sister in law. The guy loves it because he spend a lot of time on the golf course. However, his wife says if anything ever happens to him, she'll sell the house and move back to Wisconsin because she misses the change in seasons. There is one other person I know that moved to Florida (Tampa area) some years ago after retiring. He's still down there. So.......seems like 3 out of 4 people that lived here and moved south came back in a short time. I'd say that's pretty good odds for Wisconsin and it's weather. Quote
knighthawk Posted December 7, 2007 Author Report Posted December 7, 2007 Holy Crap, 15 below? It's only 40 here today, and I think it's cold here ! Been working on repairing some church windows, better finish them today, as this weekend we'll be getting the Northern stuff !! ............moving south.... I moved from Wisconsin to Texas, stayed for 6 years, moved half way back here to Kansas. Aside from being too hot in the summer, it was way too crowded with other people doing the same thing ! Quote

RobertKB Posted December 9, 2007 Report Posted December 9, 2007 knighthawk, they are probably right. When predicting weather, Murphy's Law of Weather applies. If they are predicting crappy weather they will be right but when predicting nice weather they will be wrong. Quote

I personally would rather have cold than lots of snowing and freezing rain type weather.............Fred ps even drove the 47 Chrsler for about a 5 mile ride tonight at 5:30 PM central time Quote
knighthawk Posted February 6, 2008 Author Report Posted February 6, 2008 last week we got 7 inches of snow, a couple days ago it was 67 degrees ! Last night, freezing rain plus an inch of snow, 40's today .... next few days = about 28 at nite, 45 to 50 daytime............wierd ! Quote
blueskies Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 I haven't seen snow around here in Idaho since the early 80's. It's great. There is 48 inches in my yard on the level, just like the good old days. There is 72" where this pic was taken a couple of years ago: Supposed to get another 12inches tonight and tomorrow. My blower has gotten a workout this season, but I love the snow. Bring it on! Pete Quote
