GTfastbacker Posted December 14, 2023 Report Posted December 14, 2023 We got our D19 1941 today. The interior trim is in nickel finish, not in chrome as expected. Handles and done light too. came the car this way from factory? Thank you Joe Quote
TodFitch Posted December 14, 2023 Report Posted December 14, 2023 I don't know about the 1941 era cars, but the earlier Plymouths had nickel plated interior brightwork while the exterior was chrome. That seems to be fairly standard for a lot of manufacturers in that era. 1 Quote
Sniper Posted December 15, 2023 Report Posted December 15, 2023 I know my 51 has a lot of painted trim where is used to be chrome. Because the Korean war was on and Nickle was a strategic material. 1 1 Quote
Bob Riding Posted December 15, 2023 Report Posted December 15, 2023 My '40 came with nickel plating on the dash, which I redid. IMO chrome would have looked out of place. Too "bright". 1 Quote
