P10 Master Cylinder Removal

Hi All -- I'm trying to remove the master cylinder from my '40 Plymouth P10 so I can rebuild it. I have the brake line fitting disconnected and the MC mounting bolts removed. The shop manual says to remove the cotter and clevis pin which connect the piston push rod and pedal.  I've removed the cotter pin, but cannot get the clevis pin out. There's not enough room -- it hits the clutch pedal pivot point.  What am I doing wrong??

Thanks

Dan

lower the car and take out the floor pan and the upper pan. I have the same master cylinder in my 39 desoto as you do in your car. The easiest way is when the floor boards are removed.

More room to access everything and also grease the fittings.
