Clutch throwout bearing sleeve

54 Savoy

Recommended Posts

Spring holding my throwout bearing sleeve to the clutch release fork is broken.  Clutch won't disengage.  Roberts and Bernbaum do not have replacement bearing sleeves with the spring that holds it to the release fork.  Any spares out there?

tyr this option on ebay:

AT Clutches Throw out bearing 614036 fits Chrysler Dodge Fargo Plymouth

Condition:
NewNew
Compatibility:
Quantity:

4 available / 24 sold
Price:
US $29.20

Not seeing either 2P-1054 or 671 915 listed in that Ebay link.

But according to that Ebay ad it's the same release bearing as the on on my A833,  Not sure about that.

So I did a search on pn 614036, which is what the Ebay as says the PN is.  Advanced Auto, Autozone and O'Reilly's list it, but all say does not fit a 54 Savoy

I listed this item so that the person that is looking for the part might look at the item on ebay and send a message to the seller asking if they might have the specific part that he is looking for. I can not do everything for everyone, the looker has to do some of the searching on their own. People are getting lazy and what everyone to find them the part or parts.  We now have more look up options than we did when i first started in this hobby.

I think the point I was trying to make to you was that posting outdated part numbers that don't cross is less than no help.  I was trying to get you to find that part and show me up, lol.

I did try to find that part number, btw, all that came up is 1054, which is just the bearing itself.

While I agree that people ought to take more of hand in finding their own parts before they ask here we must remember the flip side of that coin, if someone in the future is looking for that part and the info is posted here they could, theoretically, find it with out asking, assuming they look, lol.

Damned if you do damned if you don't.

The Mopar PN for the assembly is 862859, which I find in a few places.

Sniper: i sort of disagree with you about the old part numbers.  I have found that these part numbers in general are still good. Lets take brake linings. The lining were all given numbers and they because used by most of the manufacturers and the lining #s were stamped on the shoes and on the boxes.  I have found several still in the original boxes with rivets for 1162 linings for my 1939 Desoto at several large swap meets such as Hershey and even smaller local swap meets.  Just by having these numbers helps in my searching and identifying parts for my car.

Yes, some of the part numbers might not be found but if you looked at the info on the entire throwout unit and with it being identified the various car and years that used the same unit.  This is what is the important part of the info is that if a seller had the unit on his table marked as 1950 Std trans and you needed it for a 42 Desoto std trans then this part will work for your car.  This is the beauty of the catalogs.  When these parts are purchased by a vendor like Bernbaums they are also doing the same thing.  So, if they would find a 2p1054 unit they can now know that the part can be used to work on the DPCD cars for a 10 year span.

Some of the small vendors do not have the catalogs that I have so i have seen these items on the 1-5 dollar pile because I know the numbers that i am looking at.

Several years ago i saw a box of 10 of the leather u joint covers.  Because I knew the number and the number was on the box end. I opened the box to verify the units and number because they were also stamped on the leather cover.  They were the correct number for my car and several other mopar years.  I purchased the entire box for $10.

The seller did not know what he had but I did, so a great find for me and he made a sale and was happy.  This is my point, be educated on your car, you will get some great surprises when go to a swap meet.
