YukonJack Posted February 10, 2023 Report Posted February 10, 2023 I'm looking for a source for the front hood bumpers. They are about the same size as a dime in thickness and diameter. I bought some off Ebay but they are too thick. Quote

John P.S. Just looked at my P15 and there are three of the 5/8" down each side (total six) and one of the 9/16" on each side, up near the front (total 2). Mine are hard as a rock. I need to orders some of these too! Edited February 10, 2023 by JohnTeee 2 Quote
Kilgore47 Posted February 11, 2023 Report Posted February 11, 2023 Local hardware stores usually have these bumpers in many different sizes. And no shipping charges. 1 Quote
harmony Posted February 11, 2023 Report Posted February 11, 2023 I bought some from Roberts Motors, once as well as Restoration Specialties. Both claimed to be the thin variety. Both were too thick. So I put a new blade in my utility knife and carefully shaved them down. So you might take Kilgore47 advice and try your chances at a hardware store and try making your own. Or depending on your level of fussiness, or if there is any redneck blood in your vanes, you might try using a few cut to size pieces of that bumpy rubber, peel and stick, anti slip tread stuff, that you might use on a boat. But if you're trying to keep your car in concours condition, then you're best to call the various supplies and ask them to take a thickness reading on the bumpers that they have. One of our local car parts stores used to have bins of them in various sizes out on the floor at one time. But people with sticky fingers put an end to that. Another thought might be to try an auto body shop that specializes in vintage cars. 1 Quote
