MarcDeSoto Posted January 13, 2023 Report Posted January 13, 2023 I just noticed that I somehow put a dent in my new brake line that runs on top of the frame in my 48 DeSoto. Should I splice in a short section, or replace the entire line? Quote
Doug&Deb Posted January 13, 2023 Report Posted January 13, 2023 I would replace it. Easier to do now. 1 Quote
kencombs Posted January 13, 2023 Report Posted January 13, 2023 How deep is the dent? Slight visual thing or deep enough to restrict the flow? IOW, does it need to be fixed? If so, I'd do the entire preice, the fewer fitting the better. 2 Quote

Also, remember to put the fittings on before you flare it, I've heard stories about folks that forgot..... Edited January 13, 2023 by LeRoy 1 Quote

MarcDeSoto Posted January 14, 2023 Author Report Posted January 14, 2023 I don't flare. I tried it but my flares looked too bad. I will replace the entire line. It's kinked pretty bad. Quote

Bryan G Posted January 14, 2023 Report Posted January 14, 2023 Ditto, I was afraid of flares (did some line for my oil furnace once, which was passable, but a leak there won't cause my house to crash into a ditch!) That new stuff is a dream to work with. Quote
