dgrinnan Posted November 14, 2022 Report Posted November 14, 2022 I was under the impression on my 47 1/2 ton it had vacuum wiper motors. I pulled the door off and the back side of the switch had wires coming from it and the motor does not look like a vacuum motor. Is this an electric motor. If it is vacuum, why would there be wires coming from the switch and not a vacuum line. the wires were not connected. They were cut off and I don't see where they should be connected to the motor Quote
Veemoney Posted November 14, 2022 Report Posted November 14, 2022 Bosch electric wiper motor. I have the same ones on my 47 WC. They are a simple motor with some gears for the drive. 1 gear being small and it does wear. You should pull them and clean the old grease which has likely hardened if it has not been serviced. You can see in this picture where the wires connect Quote
dgrinnan Posted November 14, 2022 Author Report Posted November 14, 2022 That is good news. As long as the electric motors can be saved much better than vacuum motors. Quote
JBNeal Posted November 15, 2022 Report Posted November 15, 2022 while ya have the motor apart, shine up the commutator so them brushes will work real good Quote
Young Ed Posted November 15, 2022 Report Posted November 15, 2022 As for the other questions you should have a switch in the wiper cover hole rather than just a bushing where the arm from the vacuum wiper would come through. Also 2 holes in the cab to the outside instead of 1. Do you have the little sheet metal piece for the outside of the cab? Quote
