Bingster Posted August 30, 2022 Report Posted August 30, 2022 Have heard about bench testing a fuel pump but haven't a clue how it's done. I think I'd better do it after I rebuild mine. Quote
keithb7 Posted August 30, 2022 Report Posted August 30, 2022 Rebuild pump. Install pump. Crank engine over. Watch fuel spew out of a hose from pump into a bucket. Then hook up a pressure/vacuum gauge. Crank over engine. Read fuel pressure. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted August 30, 2022 Report Posted August 30, 2022 Hold your finger over the inlet port and operate the lever. If it pulls a vacuum on your finger it should pump fuel. 1 Quote

Bingster Posted August 30, 2022 Author Report Posted August 30, 2022 You may be right, Sam. I just don't know enough not to screw something up. By the way, do you just push the pump in and tighten the screws, or does the arm need to be in a certain position relative to the cam? Quote
