Mertz Posted April 19, 2022 Report Posted April 19, 2022 I have a couple of parts that I did not get a picture of before taking them off and restoring them. I originally thought they are part of the exhaust hanger but could not find where it bolted on. The only place it seems to fit is at the gas tank where the bolts line up with the other bracket. I’m not sure what it is for and what the round clamping piece is for. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Quote
Young Ed Posted April 19, 2022 Report Posted April 19, 2022 I believe that is for the exhaust but the circle hanger belongs on the other end. You can just see it at the far end of the pic Quote
Mertz Posted April 19, 2022 Author Report Posted April 19, 2022 Thanks. I remember now that that is the way it went in. When I took it off I had a feeling that I would put it back together right. Quote
PT Moe Posted April 19, 2022 Report Posted April 19, 2022 (edited) I have the same part and wondered the same thing. The holes matched the mounting bolts on the gas tank but I just could not figure out how that would work. My truck is finally going back together after I took it all apart over 45 years when I was much younger and stupider too. Another mystery solved.? Learning good stuff here. Mertz Posted April 20, 2022 Author Report Posted April 20, 2022 I just put it in its place so I won’t forget again where it goes. I haven’t finished that part of the frame so it will have to come off again. I sure like this site and all its helpful people. Quote
JBNeal Posted April 20, 2022 Report Posted April 20, 2022 this bracket is on my '48 and '49 half- and 1-tons: 1 Quote
