Has anyone converted there Hardline vacuum advance to a rubber line advance, I've got an Autolite distributor in my 1948 Dodge, with the metal line Advance that bolts into the carburetor, I'm switching to a 32-36 carb from Langdon, and I'm pretty sure my vacuum advance is shot anyway, I was just wondering if there was a direct replacement soft hose vacuum advance for my distributor

I am not aware of a modern sealed unit that will bolt on......the main nut has to remain in play as it adjusts total advance movement....cutting the line and slipping on a rubber hose is simple and effective and keep in mind the seat of the advance unit and the carb is set for ferrule use....if you search for a ferrule, a good seal is needed at the threads and you threads should be the same so not to damage the carb and distributor bases .   Cut the tube with reasonable length you can slip the hose on up to the base nut and hide as much of the original as any replacement nipple will allow
