I'm thinking about buying a 1951 Fargo half ton.  Which I believe is a B3B,,, right?  Anyways does anybody know how tall it is to the top of the cab?  I believe the truck has stock tires on it from the picture that I have.  The seller doesn't really know anything about the truck and she doesn't even have a tape measure, and the truck is a two hour drive plus a 3 hour ferry ride away.

My shop has a sliding door and from the concrete to the bottom of the track is about 77 inches.  Give or take a quarter inch.  Will the truck fit in my shop?

Oh man, my b3b sits right at 77”

too bad she doesn’t have a neighbor that could measure it for her/you

It will also depend on the condition of the leaf springs. Mine sits about 1/2 inch lower on the driver side.

Be prepared to let some air out of the tires.

Yes, and thanks for that link to that thread with the drawing.  I suppose I could let air out of the front tires going in and out until I could get a set of 15 inch wheels on it.

Good point.

I just went thru this exact same exercise with my '51 B3B. The door opening is 84 inches. When I lifted the door, I had to pin it back the full travel along the rails of the door; then the '51 would fit under. It is close, but it fit. My tires seem to be the standard size, if that helps. I know that you've missed out on that truck, but, in case it should come up again, that was my experience, for what its worth.

error on door opening size; not 72 but 84 (Senior Moment)

The truck just sold, so I guess I'll file that under "ya snooze ya loose"

We need to get you a truck! ?

Lol, In the mean time, you need to work on stretching those doors or raising the roof

Lol, yes but if you raise the roof you open up the option for a larger truck ?
