OUTFXD Posted February 23, 2022 Report Posted February 23, 2022 Trolling EvilBay for vintage stuff and I came across a Holley 1904 with a Glass float-bowl. I was thinking dam that would look cool! Looking at it visually, The bolt pattern is about right. The linkage and Fuel inlets are on the right side. Anyone ever try to put one of these on our flatheads? If so what are the ups and downs? I assume it would need to be re-jetted for our cars. Discuss! Quote
kencombs Posted February 23, 2022 Report Posted February 23, 2022 (edited) I know at least some won't. I have three of them and all three have a slightly narrower bolt hole pattern than our flatheads. And the throttle bores are smaller. My reason for buying was I wanted to put two of them on an Offy manifold. The plan was to plug the Offy holes and redrill. Instead I wound up modifying a stock manifold and making an adapter for a two barrel Carter from a mid 60s mopar. Not done yet, but this is the year! I think that Jeep used a version of the 1904 that will fit, but no glass bowl. edit two of mine are from Fords one from an edsel. Edited February 23, 2022 by kencombs 1 Quote

47 dodge 1.5 ton Posted February 23, 2022 Report Posted February 23, 2022 That number sounds familiar when I was fooling with inline jeeps. Best thing I ever done was replace with the Carters used on the early slant six. Seemed to be a flat spot in the mid RPM that couldn’t be adjusted. 1 Quote
cheesy Posted February 23, 2022 Report Posted February 23, 2022 I don't know if they'd fit the flat head but here's a pair on a 1952 Ford 215 I built 25 years ago. My daughter and son in law have the truck now Offy intake, Clifford header, Fenton Hi-Lift rockers. My SIL put a Pertonix(sp) ignition on it but when I was driving it, it had a Columbia dual point ignition with a blue Mallory coil. Blue meant when it bit ya, it left a mark. Issues with the 1904 carbs that I found were warped bodies and different throat sizes. 1 1 Quote
