47Jim Posted February 1, 2022 Report Posted February 1, 2022 Another forum has this in a file that requires microsoft office, wondering if anyone here has all this information in a different format, needs to include exact dimensions for the bed strip grooves, all cuts and measurements, everything. Thanks! Just got 5 extremely nice white oak boards and they were somehow already 9 foot long and 13/16 at a good price, getting very enthused about getting it going. Quote
nkeiser Posted February 2, 2022 Report Posted February 2, 2022 Mar-K has a lot of information on their website. I used this as a reference when making my bed floor. https://mar-k.com/PDFs/Instructions/Bed_Wood_Dimensions.pdf Quote
Veemoney Posted February 2, 2022 Report Posted February 2, 2022 Here is what I have for dimensions on the 6.5ft bed WC. I posted this in the past here as well. Hope it helps. Total 6-red oak planks {boards] 13/16 thick, 78 long and 7 ¾ wide 2 planks [ left and right outside] one saw kerf 1/8 deep x 1/8 wide 1/2 inch from inside edge on upper side .Saw kerf allows the rail to settle and to grip plank. 4 planks saw kerf on top ,2 per plank 1/8 deepx1/8 widex1/2 from edge Quote
Young Ed Posted February 2, 2022 Report Posted February 2, 2022 Before you start cutting do the math on your own. When I did mine using those dimensions I had to cut again. I believe this is because all bed strips aren't created equal. I have Mar-k stainless ones on my truck. Quote
Veemoney Posted February 2, 2022 Report Posted February 2, 2022 Good advice Ed. Always better to measure twice before cutting especially understanding there can be a difference in the strips. ? Quote
