Grandpas37 Posted January 5, 2022 Report Posted January 5, 2022 Hi guys, I was out in the garage tonight. Something told me to start measuring on the 37 pt50. Turns out the back right fender is about one inch taller than the left side as measured down the centerline of the wheel. Front right side is about a half inch lower than left front. Tires look about equal but I'll double check tomorrow. Body doesnt look like it's ever been hit, but dont know for sure. Could the frame be slightly bent? Are there measurements I can make to be sure? If not,is something else wrong? Or is that just expected for an 80+ yo truck? Thanks Quote
Jerry Roberts Posted January 5, 2022 Report Posted January 5, 2022 Could some of the leaf springs have settled ? Quote
Grandpas37 Posted January 5, 2022 Author Report Posted January 5, 2022 I'm not sure. Are there measurements and procedures to verify. Thanks Quote
Sniper Posted January 5, 2022 Report Posted January 5, 2022 The factory service manual usually has those dimensions in it, not sure if that would be true for a 37 though. Quote
Grandpas37 Posted January 5, 2022 Author Report Posted January 5, 2022 I've got that on order. Haven't received it yet. Truck makes it more complicated. Wondering what the acceptable tolerance is. I'll try to take some more notes this weekend Quote
kencombs Posted January 5, 2022 Report Posted January 5, 2022 FWIW, taking measurements from the frame first is the best way to determine where any issues may be. Level the frame and do the height check, my floor is level so easy to do. If yours isn't you'll need to adjust for that. May as well measure the diagonals while you're down there. If the frame is OK, you can concentrate on spring condition and body parts. Quote
