Hi Folks,

I just picked up a 1952 1 ton dodge dump truck and I am trying to figure out the Model # meaning.

model #OG2-26, I believe made in Canada.A943BE57-C11C-47CE-BE3C-D379DD086888.jpeg.9b53185a9759406acc90c29b6e1aad9b.jpeg

Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome James,

After seeing Bill’s info Research, I wonder if the “26” refers to the wheelbase? Is it 126”?

those square rear fenders look like the ones they started using in 53 in the US

Have fun with it.

I was wondering that but it looked a little short but the larger fenders? Maybe

Here's my US 126

I can see that being a 126"

Once you get that serial number off the door jamb tag or the frame up on the drivers side by the front wheel…probably need a wire brush for that …. Run the number here. It should tell ya the build info on that truck. Good luck!!

Thx everyone, thanks to Eric it seems like it was built in 51 and yes 126 inch wheel base

sold as a 52 because of the late build.

Its darn cold here right now ,-28 Celsius,

cann’t wait for the weather to warm up so I can work on this truck. Does anyone know what the OG2 part of the model number mean? Maybe G for Government?

While I agree that it looks like an “OG” on your tag, I believe it should be “DG”.

D - would indicate Dodge Truck in the Canadian model numbers. (F would be a Fargo)

G - indicates the model series, which is ‘51-52. (Equivalent to the B-3 series in US models)

2 - indicates a 1 ton truck

26 - indicates the wheel base, 126 inches.

With that information it would seem that someone either swapped out the rear fenders, or the entire bed was swapped out with a ‘53 model year, or DH2-26 truck bed/fenders. Unless Canada got the square fenders earlier than we did here in the US.
