Rodney_Hamon Posted January 11, 2022 Author Report Posted January 11, 2022 My dash gauges have no light. The original socket that would have fit under the cluster is long gone. Anyone have a good idea for a light? Single wire I’m guessing that will connect to the headlight switch spot for dash lights. Quote
Young Ed Posted January 11, 2022 Report Posted January 11, 2022 Something like this? https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Replacement-Light-for-Gauges-with-5-8-Hole,63602.html?sku=91664501&utm_medium=CSEGoogle&utm_source=CSE&utm_campaign=CSEGOOGLE&gclid=CjwKCAiAz--OBhBIEiwAG1rIOpv4EPUdOaBZeXqO6gLGpAAlTzU4JfIFfmoi0FZvqWD8-EgGkl2TrBoCrmoQAvD_BwE Quote
ggdad1951 Posted January 11, 2022 Report Posted January 11, 2022 I *THINK* RIWire sells sockets....you might have to call them, but I believe they come when you order a dash harness. Quote
Rodney_Hamon Posted January 12, 2022 Author Report Posted January 12, 2022 Yes !! Speedway is the answer. You know, my internet sucks and I’m searching on a phone with weak reception and I feel inept searching. NAPA online had some ideas but I couldn’t get more info. Looked at Amazon and saw some ideas in eek bay. I found these sockets in my stash. One of those is from my dodge originally and another is from a ‘49 Coronet. I’ll contact Speedway as new might be better right now. R.I. Wiring also got my interest. Whilst rummaging I found the original windshield wiper switch. It’s ancient looking! A search for American Bosch wiper motors has been interesting. Lots of styles and it seems they are rebuild able if needed. Again thanks for the info ! Quote
Young Ed Posted January 12, 2022 Report Posted January 12, 2022 Napa online is lacking for searching but I did buy dash bulb sockets from them when I wired my p15 Quote
Rodney_Hamon Posted January 14, 2022 Author Report Posted January 14, 2022 Success today. I found the socket housing for the dash lights. I also found the only 6 volt dash bulb. T-63. I saw that on Speedway or Napa so I’m guessing it’s correct. I cleaned it, stole the guts from another socket, wired it and hooked it up to the light switch. Light on the gauges. I’m happy. It’s putting humpty dumpy back together again. Quote
