Gas gauge

when ever I fill my tank which is rare, my gas gage does something strange. It goes up to full then back to one half until I use some of it up. Any ideas?

sounds like you grounding wire 1 by over travel of the wiper arm...possibly over travel to the rivet on the end of the resistor wiping field....when it drops back onto the wiring field it resumes proper operation.

Why are you talking about wiper arms when he has a fuel guage problem?

no one mentioned wiper ARMS...singular arm of the sender across the face of the resistor.....electronic lingo...
