And I thought my garage/shop and tools were minimal

I stumbled on a set of videos, I think from Pakistan, showing the building or repair of everyday items. Amazing what one can do with minimal tools if you aren’t worried about safety and/or long term health. I am also not really sure about the quality of the repairs.

Anyway, the list of videos can be found at https://videos.tormentasolar.win/c/amazing_things_official/videos

And here are a few that I watched:

Clutch Disc rebuild: https://videos.tormentasolar.win/videos/watch/c988ed8c-b300-43eb-850c-609a1131c3fb

Recore radiator: https://videos.tormentasolar.win/w/8aByFsXwz2pmnFfwUfUhHL
and  https://videos.tormentasolar.win/w/pVvZpvcYHr7zAjdS6u1jxr

Starter motor field coil refurbishment: https://videos.tormentasolar.win/w/sS1gNMeQVjwRYQZeYG8Lsa

Repairing an alloy wheel: https://videos.tormentasolar.win/w/sC7DzSJf4xBvgTQ8c4ztN3

Apparently these are also available on YouTube but I tend to avoid Google when possible.

When I see things like that(I watched the clutch vid) I can't help but think of all the items from watches to Railroad trains to massive ship built just using rough hand tools.  And if you are like me you mutter to yourself anytime a job is a pain because you don't have the exact correct tool. And like me, you probably got a lot of single or maybe a few uses tools that you most likely will never use again.  Thanks for posting that. I am going to try to watch more as time permits.

You should watch the video with those Pakistani guys rebuilding batteries.

Everybody’s wearing sandals of course and I was just waiting for someone to pour hot lead on their toe.
