I installed the rotor repair kit. No joy. The problem I’m having is the rotor doesn’t lock in place like the other doors. My next step is to remove the door panel to investigate. If anyone has a parts manual for a 52 Coronet could you please take a picture of the door latch assembly. I haven’t gotten a parts book yet. I’d like to see if anything’s serviceable or if the latch is toast. Thanks

latches should be specific to location, right left and front to back

Yeah I’m having trouble finding one. Of course the drivers door is the first to wear out. Anyone know if Plymouth and Dodge used the same latch? I know of a 51 Plymouth in a junkyard. I may take a look at it.

If you look at teh first pic I posted it goves the part numbers.  According to that all 49-52 Chryslers, Desotos, Dodges and Plymouths use the same lock assemblies.

Sniper I need a favor. Could you please tell me the part number for the left front door latch assembly for a 52 Dodge. My old eyes can’t blow up your picture enough to read it lol. Thanks

lol. talk about jinxing yourself.

The spring on the driver's door that holds the outside handle horizontal broke on my 51.  The spring I need is NOT the one in the picture below, I have three of those.

Looking the in parts manual, nothing in that latch assembly is serviced separately.  We, my SIL and I, headed to Ace to see if there was a spring that could work.  We found something that looked like it might do the job with a bit of fab.  No dice.  It's not quite strong enough to do the trick.  We suspected it when we bought them as the diameter was smaller.

I ended up buy some used latch assemnblies off of Ebay, we'll see how that works when I get them.  NOS ones are quite expensive.
