maddmaxx1949 Posted June 23, 2021 Report Posted June 23, 2021 Posting in off topic because I am not sure what era this is from even though it is a chrysler part and I might use this thread for some of the NOS parts I have lying around which I can't find part numbers for. The first item in question is this Voltage Regulator. Pretty sure it's prestolite but it has a chrysler number on it I haven't got any search hits with. Asking for help on compatible years and models. I see alot of VBO 4202P that fit chrysler and willys/jeep but not 4202M. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Number on this voltage regulator are shown in the photos. 3U VBO-4202M Pos or neg ground 12V 6amp. Not sure what the 6 amp is for. Quote
greg g Posted June 24, 2021 Report Posted June 24, 2021 Got to be 56 through 61. 56 was 1st year for 12v so it has to be neg ground. In 61 Chrysler went to alternators or could be 62. I know the 1960 Valiant was the first alternator equipt production car. Our 60 dart had the generator still. So some where between 60 and 63 all Chrysler brands went to alts so the regulator for the generator would have been obsoleted on the production line. Quote
chrysler1941 Posted June 24, 2021 Report Posted June 24, 2021 I don't think it's a MoPar/Auto-Lite product. Quote
ccudahy Posted June 24, 2021 Report Posted June 24, 2021 (edited) It has a Autolite part number: VBO-4202M stamped on the flange. Did a Google search and the Chrysler# 2095206 on the cover matches the Autolite numbers from 1960. Don't know what car it goes with though. Does anyone have a 1960 Autolite Catalog?
