Vintrader Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 OK, We can't let these Left Coast Guys make us look bad. I think there are enough of us Pilot House owners and general MoPar Guys here on the Right Coast to get something like this together. Idea's / Locations / Dates? Let's show these guy's we know how ( SHOOT THE S  T ) with the best of them. Dutch Quote
48Dodger Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Nice Vin, I look forward to reading this thread so I can "pick-up" some ideas for our thing, and maybe consider crashing yours! I mean... if I can afford the gas....... 48D Quote
Bob_Koch Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Good for you Dutch, I hope you guys can get something together for the East coast side. Doing some meets or get-togethers has been one of our goals and I think we're finally getting the number of people to make it happen. Quote
Jim Shepard Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Who knows, maybe we can meet in the middle somewhere. Maybe cruise the 'Mother Road' for a while? My fantasy is to cruise the 'Mother Road' in my B2B towing a teardrop... Quote
Mario Loya B1B Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 Great idea Dutch. However, logistics may be a little tricky, I haven't worked up the courage to take her on the highway yet. Quote
greg g Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 been trying for a couple years to get Northeasterners together. Seems everybody always has something to do. My suggestion would just be to put out a date and a location for an informal meet and greet. This time of year probably bringing the old iron out isn't as important as face time. Maybe put something together for the Albany area. I would think that the May show and swap at Rhinebeck would be a natural. Place for folks w/o running vehicles to look for parts and a place for those of us with running vehicles to show em off. Quote
Vintrader Posted October 17, 2007 Author Report Posted October 17, 2007 Yes I was thinking more next spring, give us some time to work out the details. Quote
MBF Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 Dutch-count me in - our show next year at the fairgrounds is on Father's Day weekend which is the same weekend as Macungie! Since I've got to be down there to help w the show Thu-Sat, I'm planning on coming home Sat night to get a good turnout for Sunday @ Rhinebeck. It'd be great if we had a PH row for our show-and next year is going to be huge-the Antique Motorcycle Club is having their national show along w the folks from Century Museum, and the Mid Hudson Chapter of the Antique Truck Club of America. Mark your calendars! Mike Quote
Paul Beard Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 I would be happy to travel a reasonable distance. I am also going to try and make it to Macungie next year. Quote
Rich Gengo Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 I went to Rhinebeck this year to the Goodguys show. Sure was lonely with the only Piolthouse! Quote
Vintrader Posted October 18, 2007 Author Report Posted October 18, 2007 I went to Rhinebeck this year to the Goodguys show. Sure was lonely with the only Piolthouse! Rich, I was out of town for Goodguys this year, it would have been nice to meet you. Could you let us know where you are located? If you don't mind adding it and any other info to your public profile? Then we all can start to get a better idea where folks are. Dutch Quote

Paul, I also wanted to go to Macungie next year. It is one of the only events I have not been able to get to and I understand there is a very good parts swap. I have been looking for the dates, does anyone have them? Mike you said it is the same weekend as the Truck Show in Rhinebeck, do you have those dates? Thanks. Dutch Quote

48Dodger Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 Hey, good point Dutch. I'm not on the California list. Can this be updated? It would be nice to make sure people who are part of this forum, in our areas, know about the meets. There might be some who don't check the forum regularly but would want go to the BBQ's. 48D Quote
dsquared Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 Dutch, you can count me in but not my truck it needs about two more years to make the trip. Doug (Poughquag N.Y.) Quote
greg g Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 You had to respond to the poll. I posted the poll on the car board, and a note inviting PH guys to respond. Several of the truck folks are there so they must have seen the note. I consider both boards part of the same neighborhood so it seems redundant to post the same thing to both forums. I routinely check both each time I visit, and take for granted that others do. There were 1200 + views but less that 10% response so there are a lot of folks who looked but chose not to respond. Here is an idea I have put forth before but got no respons to. I proposed that we pick a date in the spring and meet in some place of interest like Cooperstown, either with or without cars and trucks, just a fairly central location with something that might be of interest, and several places that might act as a meeting place. Restaurants, taverns or public parks. I spoke to the folks at Cooperstown a couple years ago about a place to park a bunch of cars if several showed up and they were ameanable to reserving some spots on the main drag if something like this were to take place. If you draw an 80 or 90 mile circle around C town it take in a lot of NE territory. Quote
48Dodger Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 Sorry Greg, I noticed the fact it was a poll after my post. I must have missed it when it was active. 48D Quote
Don Coatney Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 I consider both boards part of the same neighborhood so it seems redundant to post the same thing to both forums. I routinely check both each time I visit, and take for granted that others do. For those not sure how to do so (read both forums) simply click on the "NEW POSTS" link at the top of the page and it will list all new postings on both forums. Beauty of this is that no matter when or where or what computor you use to read the forums this feature shows only what messages are new to you personally. And these new messages will remain new messages until you open and read them. You must be logged in for this feature to work for you. Quote

MBF Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 Delaware-Maryland? Let me see if a pilot house leaves the Hudson Valley traveling at 40 mph..... Should be there by February! Mike Quote

greg g Posted October 20, 2007 Report Posted October 20, 2007 I was thinking reionally for ontario, ny, and new england. There is always Sully Plantation in JUne in Va for the more adventurous. Quote
Vintrader Posted October 20, 2007 Author Report Posted October 20, 2007 Well I for one am very glad to see members getting into the idea. While everyone driving old rides to some kind of get together would be great, I am not sure how realistic it would be. I think as more people respond we can come closer to picking a location and a date. Keep those relpys coming in. Dutch Quote
MBF Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 Dutch-are you taking the PH to the show at the Mill's estate tomorrow? I'm heading up with my truck mid morning. Hope to see you there. Mike Quote
