oil fitting question

I hope somebody can help with this. I am working on a 1952 B3B with a 230 flat head 6. Under the canister oil filter there are two fittings on the block. The fittings are on the driver's side of the engine just forward of the back of the starter housing. One fitting is a 90 degree fitting which has one of the lines to the oil filter canister connected to it. The other fitting is for the tube that goes to the OEM oil pressure gauge in the dash.

 

The 90 degree fitting is cracked and I need to replace it. I can't get it out without removing the oil pressure gauge (OPG) fitting right above it. When I unscrewed the OPG fitting and started to remove it from the engine block, but the back of the fitting has some kind of a tube that goes into the engine block attached to it. I stopped because I was unfamiliar with this. I looked in my parts and service manuals and I can't see any reference to the fitting/tube.

 

Has anybody had experience with this fitting? Can I just pull it out without any issues? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. BobH

I don’t know what that is. It doesn’t look right. That‘s usually a standard 1/8” pipe thread fitting to connect to the oil filter feed line. Oil pressure gauge line is usually connected to one of the other ports along the oil pressure gallery. Some are connected to the port behind the starter. Mine connects to the port behind the fill pipe.

 that is where mine is connected, but i have a 51 Cambridge and the OP has a truck.  Not sure if that matters though.

I think that is one part of a after market camshaft bearing oil restrictor kit.

Pull it out so we can see the end of the tube.

I have a restrictor kit for the passenger cars...no truck kit which would be different.

Never have used one.
