Cranbrook towed.htmlDrove out to Northeast Classic car museum in Norwich,NY for our 44th anniversary, about 70 miles one way. 10 miles from our house on the way home 52 Cranbrook died, no spark. Found the small screw that holds all the wires to the points had fallen out. Attempted to reinstall, NG. Luckily my son was in the area with his Peter built and low boy trailer. He got the small screw back in, managed to drop the large bolt that secures the points, found the bolt, secured and gapped points, still NG. Loaded on his low boy and took it to his house. I will deal with it tomorrow. Other than that, it was a great day, lunch at a restaurant for the first time since March,  spectacular foliage, nice display of cars at the museum. When we stopped for ice cream on the way home, the woman who waited on us mentioned a car show tomorrow  in Richford which is about 20 miles from my house or 10 miles from my son's where the car will be. Love these old cars.

It was getting dark and I was getting frustrated even though we were off the road safely enough. I will take a look tomorrow when I am fresh and rested.

Does anyone have a detailed picture of the points installation -Autolite IAT 4011? Not sure if anything came up missing when the small screw fell out.

Thanks Sniper. Pulled dist. out this AM, assembled as pictured. The small bolt holding wires to points set is the one that fell out, luckily it was still in there, also the small jumper wire from base to points set was not attached at points side. Eyeballed the gap, put dist. back in, eyeballed timing, drove to car show 10 miles way. On the 20 mile trip home, it didn't act too happy, need to set dwell and timing. Thanks guys.

PS Hey Sniper, need a little grease on the rubbing block!☺️

I have a manual but it just shows a lousey exploded view of the dist.

Update: got my dwell meter and timing lite out and got the old girl purring like a kitten again. So much for relying on the 66 yo eyeballs to set things!!!
