DJK Posted May 15, 2020 Report Posted May 15, 2020 Installing a Fram C134PL on my 52 Cranbrook. The filter has rubber grommets on each end and also comes with 2 rubber washers. Are the rubber washers needed? Thanks guys. Quote
desoto1939 Posted May 16, 2020 Report Posted May 16, 2020 I use a napa 1010 and it is similar to the Fram. I do not use the washers. You have to make sure that you have the rubber gasket on the lid to seal the upper lip and the lid has to be on very tight so that no oil leaks out when it is being pushed into the metal canister. Do not ask how I know but we all have done this with these type of oil filters. Rich Hartung Quote
DJK Posted May 16, 2020 Author Report Posted May 16, 2020 That is what I thought. I applied a thin layer of grease to hold the cover seal in place while installing the top. Thanks, have a great weekend. PS have you ever attended the Autumn Fest and car show in Williamsport? Quote
busycoupe Posted May 16, 2020 Report Posted May 16, 2020 You do need a gasket under the head of he center bolt on top of the cover. It is not very thick however, more like a washer. 1 Quote
Bobb Horn Posted May 16, 2020 Report Posted May 16, 2020 I believe the Fram C3 was a better fit for me, than the Fram C134...... Quote
