doogan Posted February 17, 2020 Report Posted February 17, 2020 My friend has an original 1926 dodge brothers sedan in need of points. He has located some but man are they pricey! Just thinking.....is there a way or someone you know that. can take an old set and attach tips from some other set? Just curious if this is possible or has been done. Thanks He has ordered a set but I am just curious that this hasn't been done or attempted in the past. Quote
Sniper Posted February 17, 2020 Report Posted February 17, 2020 More than just the tips are replaced when you get new points. the spring loses tension with use, the rubbing block wears. Yes all that can be replaced but not sure you'd save much if you farmed that out. Anyway, what you are looking for is called an Electrical Contact Rivet. Good luck finding someone to sell 2 and not 10,000 to you. Quote
Tooljunkie Posted February 17, 2020 Report Posted February 17, 2020 Pertronics. It all fits under distributor cap and can easily be returned to original. Quote
