Sniper Posted February 16, 2020 Report Posted February 16, 2020 Anyone else put seat belts in their ride? Just finished up putting a pair in the front, nothing in the back yet. Quote
Doug&Deb Posted February 16, 2020 Report Posted February 16, 2020 How did you attach the upper mounts? I have lap belts but your setup looks much safer. Quote
BobDeSoto Posted February 16, 2020 Report Posted February 16, 2020 I have lap belts that were installed 30 years ago - 51 DeSoto. I wear them mostly in case the brakes fail! Quote
Sniper Posted February 16, 2020 Author Report Posted February 16, 2020 The manufacturer of the belts provided pretty good instructions for the upper mount so I followed them. https://www.wescoperformance.com/3-point-seat-belts-shoulder-mt-door.html Quote
Andydodge Posted February 16, 2020 Report Posted February 16, 2020 I don't have any pics at present showing the front lap sash retractable belts but the upper mount was a piece of 3/4 wide, 2" long 1/8th plate with the nut welded to it slipped down into the upper pillar then held against the pillar and the bolt inserted & tightened, then some 3/16th pop rivets used to affix the plate to the pillar, the lower mount was bolted to the floor, same with the inner stalk mount, both with reinforcement plates underneath.............the rear belts are lap/sash, non retractable at each end and a lap belt in the middle....all mounting points have reinforcement plates underneath plus there are child car seat mounts on the rear parcel shelf, again with reinforcement plates underneath...........hope this helps....andyd Quote
