homer41 Posted January 16, 2020 Report Posted January 16, 2020 I am putting a new clutch in my total restoration of my 41 Plymouth. It is a stock rebuild. I bought a new leather seal/cover and do not know how it is attached to the bellhousing I know it is rivited to the clutch fork. Any help would be appreciated, dave Quote
tom'sB2B Posted January 16, 2020 Report Posted January 16, 2020 The original clutch fork boot has a metal frame. This frame has tabes which poke through the leather boot and are then bent around the bell hole to keep it in place. https://images.app.goo.gl/rFPcBjciRdBT1dWP7 Quote
homer41 Posted January 17, 2020 Author Report Posted January 17, 2020 Did not notice tabs on it but will look tomorrow. Thanks. Dave Quote
homer41 Posted January 22, 2020 Author Report Posted January 22, 2020 My new one has no tabs, going to check with the vender tomorrow. I may have to make my own tabs. Dave Quote
61spit Posted January 22, 2020 Report Posted January 22, 2020 I think you can just reuse the old one. I took mine out and cleaned and repainted it. It is a little metal frame that the boot wraps around. Quote

homer41 Posted January 28, 2020 Author Report Posted January 28, 2020 I made my own, will know soon if it works. I made it from a piece of .050 sheet with tabs inside and outside, the inside ones bent in and around the opening of the bellhousing the outside ones bend around the leather boot base. So far it is good, will know when I bend the outers around the boot. Maybe in a few days. Dave 1 Quote
