Tooljunkie Posted December 12, 2019 Report Posted December 12, 2019 Hello, need to pick the collective brain. as i am in the process of going through the front end of my 49 fargo i took notice of the long tie rod end, it has a pretty good arc to it. Im wondering if this is the way it should be or should it be straight? this truck Appears to have had a rough life on the farm where it came from and this may be something i need to correct. thanks in advance for you help. 1949 Wraith Posted December 12, 2019 Report Posted December 12, 2019 The drag link has a bend in it. You should check out the link it has the parts list for our trucks with drawings of most of the parts and tons of other info. http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/know/know.htm Quote
Tooljunkie Posted December 12, 2019 Author Report Posted December 12, 2019 Thanks, photos look straight. the rod that connects left wheel to right wheel. Going to see a supplier for parts on saturday, he may have a good one i can look at,and if needed i will pick one up. Quote
ggdad1951 Posted December 12, 2019 Report Posted December 12, 2019 yep, has a bend as Wraith said...BUT doesn't mean it wasn't bent more in its former rough life Quote
Merle Coggins Posted December 12, 2019 Report Posted December 12, 2019 As said, the Drag Link that connects the steering box pitman arm to the right side spindle has a bend it it. The Tie Rod that connects the right side spindle to the left side spindle should be straight. Quote
