ThriftyT Posted February 3, 2019 Report Posted February 3, 2019 (edited) I have a 1940 Chrysler c25. Trying to figure out it’s particular production number. Anyone know how to read the vin? Thanks. Edited February 3, 2019 by ThriftyT Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 3, 2019 Report Posted February 3, 2019 there is no VIN those did not start until many years later....US made cars and Canadian made cars each have a few ID numbers, seems the Canadians put the body line and time codes on their tags. About the only sure way to get a read on your car is submit the inquiry to the Chrysler Historical Foundation and get the IBM punch card and accompanying blurb that will help decode your car. Number of items will be revealed, usually including the dealer it was shipped to etc. For a person who truly wants the verbiage on his car...this is the best way to get it and know the truth. 1 Quote
TodFitch Posted February 3, 2019 Report Posted February 3, 2019 Concur with Plymouthy's reply. You may want to look at my serial number/VIN web page. The "calculator" on the top right will show the plant your car was assembled in and about how far through the production run it was. Quote
