greg g Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 Hmmm!!! 55 rear with 54 dog house???? or visa versa, pretty neat either way. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 Now, that's sharp. Could go for something like that, but not for that price. That said, the seller should really learn the proper terms. That is not a Street Rod. A Street Rod is anything built before 1949. This is a "Custom Rod" of the 50's. Ok, Ok, so I'm getting picky. Quote
Young Ed Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 Norm I thought the post 49 ones were street machines? Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 Not according to the rod magazines and clubs. The 50's were custom rods, or just plain custom cars. Early to mid late 60's muscle cars and street machines after that. I could have the muscle cars and street machines backwards, never got into those that much. Quote
Tony_Urwin Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 Does that thing have two anti-sway bars? Quote
Young Ed Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 That might be the transverse torsion bar suspension. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted September 6, 2007 Author Report Posted September 6, 2007 Now that the seller has his "dream machine" all built and drivable.....he wants to sell. Go figure. Maybe he enjoys the building more than the driving and showing. Quote
Suddensix Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 This car belongs to a good friend of mine who is also the president of the car club I belong to. It is a very nice ride with a Volare front clip and 55 tail lights. The owner is facing some serious health problems at the moment and always seems to end up with a lot more quality" Mopar only" rides than places to keep them. He recently sold a 33 Plymouth street rod that he built several years ago and a real nice 69 Dart convertible. He has a lot of bucks in that wagon. Cheers Quote
Normspeed Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 I like the conversion to sedan delivery. Hard to pull that off with a wagon. He did a nice job making the tailgate into a one piece, I wonder if it's hinged on the side like a sedan delivery. Quote
PatS.... Posted September 7, 2007 Report Posted September 7, 2007 The description says these bucket seats are from a Chrysler New Yorker. Does anyone recognize what year New Yorker that would be? They sorta look like minivan seats. Quote
