Adrian41D-19
wow! amazing! the car run so good, but the vacamatic don't shift automaticly, i think it's cause of the very old oil everythings is probably stuck inside but the fluid coupling is good and the car seem to be nervous, don't need to speed up the engin to move the car. the gear shuifting is ok but not the automatic part of the trans. the carb is realy dirty so sometime she stall this is why i play with the cluch to avoid this. otherwise it's a real nice find !!! 1949 Wraith
If your idle is too high the transmission will not shift up when you let off the accelerator.

Jschilling201
Nice ride. Here is my 42. Built in Detroit two weeks before the Pearl Harbor attack. Runs and drives. Not many of these out there. Not sure of the value. Edited April 16, 2018 by Jschilling201

Peter D. Tillman
I think my parents had a 1942 Windsor. Link to a photo (FB links can be dodgy): https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=10217327283272790&set=a.1025809004194&comment_id=10222580963651516&reply_comment_id=10222581142415985¬if_id=1610302109486892¬if_t=comment_mention&ref=notif Photo was taken around 1951-52. I think they bought the Chrysler used in Calif (where my Dad was stationed in WW2) and drove it back to Louisiana. Photo may have been taken in Baton Rouge. They called it "Dugout Doug" and it was light green. I was 5 or 6 then. My, how time flies! Good luck with your project!
Marcel Backs
Ce bolide est formidable et rarement observe en amerique du nord. This is a big time car which is rarely seen even in north america! Felecitations/ Congraltulations on having acquired such a rare car. Being a Windsor built car of that model makes it even rarer. Was it possibly a military car for a high rank during the war? mes meilleurs voeux Marcel
Marcel Backs
BTW I consider the Windsor and De Soto for 42 to be masters in automotive styling!....and then a 41 coupe to boot! Is the coupe a 3 or 5 window model? My D14 is a 5 window and I find all these old ww2 era bombshells "Marilyn Monroes" in body styling and beautiful curves!
