jyinger Posted January 15, 2018 Report Posted January 15, 2018 Will rear leaf springs from the same year sedan work on a convertible? My project car is a 1951 Chrysler Imperial convertible Thanks Jon jyinger1@gmail.com Quote
desoto1939 Posted January 15, 2018 Report Posted January 15, 2018 if you have parts book for this car then it should answer your question. If someone has a parts book they might beable to provide the answer to your question. Rich HArtung Quote

Andydodge Posted January 15, 2018 Report Posted January 15, 2018 The Auto Interchange Systems 1950-1965 Chrysler Interchange Manual I have shows 51-52 Saratoga and 50-54 Crown Imperial use the same springs........no brakedown re the body style so I would think the listing is purely model/series based...............hope this helps...........andyd Quote
jyinger Posted January 16, 2018 Author Report Posted January 16, 2018 Thanks a.d. So, apparently, all models use the dame springs? That's encouraging. Quote
Andydodge Posted January 16, 2018 Report Posted January 16, 2018 Just had another look at this interchange manual................is your car a CROWN IMPERIAL or just an IMPERIAL?.......which one?...............how wide are the springs that are currently on the car?.........1 & 3/4" or 2" wide?................I may have given you a bum steer...........what width are your springs?...................andyd Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted January 16, 2018 Report Posted January 16, 2018 145" WB Crown Imperial springs are too stiff for his 131" WB "Imperial" convert. Quote
