49D-24BusCpe Posted December 12, 2017 Report Posted December 12, 2017 'TT, Does your M-37 have a 230" or 251"? Walt Quote
Trucker Tim Posted December 12, 2017 Report Posted December 12, 2017 (edited) It has a stock 230. Runs like a top. (my Buddy's howitzer) Edited December 12, 2017 by Trucker Tim 1 Quote
Flatie46 Posted December 12, 2017 Report Posted December 12, 2017 Really cool, thanks for sharing! Quote
Trucker Tim Posted December 12, 2017 Report Posted December 12, 2017 My Pleasure! It's a privilege to own one of these classic vehicles. I figure I'm just a temporary "care-taker". They all are a part of our history. The M-37 was restored in Honor of my Father who spent his entire adult life in the Military. The Plymouth brings back a very large part of my past. We the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, with so little, for so long, we are now qualified to do anything, with nothing. Flatie46 Posted December 12, 2017 Report Posted December 12, 2017 I bet it would have made your dad proud. Quote
Trucker Tim Posted December 12, 2017 Report Posted December 12, 2017 Thanks Flatie46. We would like to think he would be. 40 years he spent in the Military in some form. Dad always wanted an old Military vehicle but never would spend the money. "Family first." We sold a 1948 Willys to provide the funds for the Plymouth and 34 years ago I had a 84 Harley FXRS. Cool. Had a 54 "pan" before that. Quote
Flatie46 Posted December 13, 2017 Report Posted December 13, 2017 Owned an FXR...well now, I raise my glass to you sir. I really love mine, best handling Harley ever. I remember reading all the bike magazines back in the 80's and looking to see what the editors and staff road, a lot owned an FXR. I didn't understand until I owned one. They quit making the FXR due to the cost involved in the frame ( last hand welded ). I also own a '92 Ultra, great bike love the EVO engine. Rode it to Sturgis in '15 for the 75th Anniversary, then on to Colorado, rode trail ridge road. Did 4300 miles in 13 days. Not bad for a bike that qualified for antique tags, not a single issue. I see your FXR has the EVO engine, sweet package. Looks new in the pic. Why would you sell such a nice one? What about the Pan, was it all original, chopped, bobber? Quote
Trucker Tim Posted December 14, 2017 Report Posted December 14, 2017 The "pan" was a chopper. Bought it the way it sits. Just was not too practical. 1954????? Maybe?? Gettin' old. Quote
Flatie46 Posted December 15, 2017 Report Posted December 15, 2017 That's cool ole bike. I dig it! Bet you miss that one. Quote
Trucker Tim Posted December 15, 2017 Report Posted December 15, 2017 Hey Flatie46, I do miss both of them. My Lori didn't like the new one. It's long gone, she's still here! Quote
iowa51 Posted December 17, 2017 Report Posted December 17, 2017 Noticed the 20 MPH sign. Going 20 MPH over a speed bump is going to jar you and your vehicle pretty good. Quote
Trucker Tim Posted December 17, 2017 Report Posted December 17, 2017 And we know something about "bumps" in the road in Iowa. 1 Quote
