Dennis Detweiler Posted November 4, 2017 Report Posted November 4, 2017 My Carter BB needs a new throttle shaft. This one is brass and sloppy. Mike's Carbs had some, but out of stock and doesn't know if or when he will have more. The brass shaft also looks like it has a slight bow or bent down slightly where the throttle arm connects to it and likely why it is worn on one side where it rests in the housing. I could probably make another one, but it would be a tedious job. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 4, 2017 Report Posted November 4, 2017 yeah, I say make it....its a bird in the hand issue.... Quote
desoto1939 Posted November 5, 2017 Report Posted November 5, 2017 show us a picture of the part and also for what carb model. the model is stamped onthe air horn on a flange something like DG6A1. This will help us to know which part you need and the part number. Rich Hartung Desoto1939@aol.com Quote
Dennis Detweiler Posted November 5, 2017 Author Report Posted November 5, 2017 It's a Ball & Ball and DT3E or DTE3? I'm not at home right now, but I believe it was originally from a Dodge truck? I'm not sure, but the throttle bodies might all be the same except for the BBR-1. Maybe some had steel throttle shafts and some brass? I could probably make another one out of 5/16 brass rod. Much faster and easier to purchase an after market shaft. Quote
