bob westphal Posted October 22, 2017 Report Posted October 22, 2017 What is the year and model? Where is the master cylinder now? Quote
nonstop Posted October 22, 2017 Report Posted October 22, 2017 I did the ECI kit in my 54 to mount a dual reservoir master under the floor. I then bought an adapter to bolt a booster to the eci bracket and used a universal dual 8” diaphragm booster for assist. It stops like a champ now! Quote

bob westphal Posted November 5, 2017 Report Posted November 5, 2017 I used a dual master cylinder/booster kit from speedway that mounts on firewall and under dash pedal kit from them also. You can use your existing brake lines but you should use a brake ballance setup to get the proper braking front to rear. Its a lot easier access than under the floor. Quote
Andydodge Posted November 5, 2017 Report Posted November 5, 2017 My Oz 1940 Dodge uses Oz brand 11" PBR vented discs, calipers, master cylinder & booster from an Oz Leyland, the rear brakes are an early 90's Oz Ford wagon diff with its stock non vented discs & calipers.........the pendant pedals are from an early 60's Chev......the firewall was modified to allow the booster to mount on a piece of 1/8th plate that the pedal box mounts onto at the front and has an extra piece added at the rear to allow it to mount onto the lower edge of the dash..........the steering column also mounts to the rear of the pedal mount and also to a braced and strengthened lower firewall mount............the master cylinder is the stock disc/drum cylinder with the proportioning valve left off it as the same master cylinder with this piece removed was used on 4 wheel disc Oz Ford Falcons which this system is basically now.......the car stops well...............you should only need the proportioning valve if you have a disc/drum system, as far as I am aware disc/disc systems don't need one, however I would suggest checking with a local expert to be sure...........these are the only (old)pics I can find at present showing the booster on the firewall, its not real clear but the recess it sits into is the 1/8th plate area, the booster uses 4 studs that go thru this plate and a similar "plate" at the front of the pedal box and 4 nuts bolt it all together.........been like this since 1975............the steering column mount is that black 2" square piece black...........I must do something about the exhaust clamps one day............lol............andyd 1 Quote
