TylerB46 Posted October 9, 2017 Report Posted October 9, 2017 Hi, I have a 46 WC 1/2 pickup that used to belong to my great grandpa. The truck has been sitting in a garage since the late 70's so it needs a bit of attention before it can hit the road again, while I'm trying to keep the truck as stock looking as I can, it doesn't have the original engine, instead it has another straight six from a 53 dodge car I believe. So just for fun and a little bit of extra power I'm considering adding a different intake so that I could run 3 single barrel carbs instead of just the one. So what my question is, is do any of you know around how much torque and horsepower the original 3 speed manual can handle? If it's nothing more than factory power I'll just leave the one carb and run the truck the way it is. Thank you Quote
Merle Coggins Posted October 9, 2017 Report Posted October 9, 2017 Interesting idea. Check out Manifolds by Moose. He's a member here, on the car side. http://www.manifoldsbymoose.com/home/chrysler I don't believe you could make enough power with your flattie 6 to damage the trans or axle. Go for it. Quote
TylerB46 Posted October 9, 2017 Author Report Posted October 9, 2017 Okay thank you, I'll definitely go look into a new intake. Quote
greg g Posted October 9, 2017 Report Posted October 9, 2017 You're fine as far as strength is concerned unless you will be doing pulling competitions. Big power from a fully built motor is not going to approach 200 HP. Quote
