I have a 52 b3d that has the hand brake lever on the floor. What I'm wondering is if this is correct. The hole for the lever in the transmission cover was cut out by a PO, so it does not look correct to me. As far as I am finding in diagrams the b1 trucks have the lever hand brake. The b2/3/4 have the pull handle under the dash. Can anyone verify this? None of my diagrams show a 1 ton only 1/2 and 3/4. So we're both hand brake options available for 1 ton? Or should I have the under the dash pull handle?

It is gone, but this last weekend I pulled the under the dash handle out of another truck so that way I atleast had it. So if that one is correct then I will probably start collecting other pieces. What other parts will I need that I wouldn't have from the floor brake setup? I know I would need a cable

Underdash parts would be black, notched rod was cadmium plated.  My handle is polished nickel (1951 only?), but lots of handles were painted red cast metal from what I see on the ones I've got in my parts pile.

Ok thank you. I am planning to powder coat the handle but I'll try my best to leave the notches rod raw. Do you know if the rod comes out of the base and I could coat them separately?

I think they come apart...might have to remove a pin or bend a flange...if it goes together it has to come apart!
